Im not legally allowed to say if I was in Chicago or not, but let's just say that may or may not have visited and saw my uncle and bought his 740i from him for the family discounted price of $2k. It's dropped on some BC Racing coils and has a Magnaflow exhaust that's loud as all hell. Comes with the 4.4L V8 and has a 5 speed auto. Drives like a beast and only needs a tune up and the driver seat controls fixed. Ask away kiddies

How big of an oil puddle does it leave when parked overnight?

When did you become a mildly successful drug dealer.

Is that paint? Dip? Wrap?

Lord yes, i love it.

Very unfortunate paint, my uncle has weird taste but I’m trying to convince him to at least make it solid purple before he ships it but honestly idc in the end I still have a decent car

I heard the Mafia been going for more low-key rides lately, is that true?
![]() 08/09/2020 at 17:48 |

Sure, at least that's what the other owner told my uncle

Nice! I’m oddly impressed that it has volume controls on the wheel for a 97.

How many miles on it?

Remember this was their flagship top of the line car, at first I thought the same. The facelifted E38s have an even more modern looking 3 spoke wheel similar to that of the newer E90 M3 and basically every newer BMW

That’s very true.

I like the SWB E38 more than I should

Never in a million years did I think my second ever car would be A) bought while I was still under 18 or B) a goddamn BMW. I’ve always been a Japanese car kind of guy but let’s just say after a half hour behind the large sailboat wheel of this thing I’m a fan for sure.

Very cool! I just hope this doesn’t murder your wallet.....

There’s people who’d pay shit for anything down here so I’m sure if it got too expensive I could sell/trade for something decent, but it’s been pretty solid for my uncle in the few years he’s had it and looked/drove solid when I saw it so hopefully I could hold onto it for a long time.

Hi

Unfortunate indeed, but we’ve all seen worse. Couldn’t cost that much to have the hood, decklid and roof sprayed?

When I was 17 I was looking at an e36 and my sister, who is a giant bitch, told laughed and said I’d never have a BMW. Funny thing is at the time I didn’t have my license and she was driving MY Camry cuz she don’t have a car. Now I have one. I don’t buy it to prove her wrong, but it’s a nice side effect.

My very rich uncle bought a silver one new and still drives it. He doesn’t like the new stuff.

Chicago and slammed car is not a good combo...how much did it bottom out?
![]() 08/09/2020 at 19:04 |

How are the ride on the BC coilovers? Kinda of an antithesis for a car like this, but I also understand why.

Fantastic! Love the E38. Wheels are off of an E65, I think?
Not loving the two tone, but a great car. Enjoy!

Weird two tone. Huh. Condition 1-10?
![]() 08/09/2020 at 21:32 |

I'll look into it eventually if he doesn't already do it before shipping it to Florida, but for now the top priority is the tune up and driver seat controls

As he should
![]() 08/09/2020 at 21:33 |

Yup, they're E65 rims. I'm not really a fan of the two tone either but that can always be changed.
![]() 08/09/2020 at 21:34 |

It’s my uncle’s doing for when he owned the car, I don’t agree with it either but it can always be changed. I’d say a solid 7.5 out of 10 due to the minor stuff I said it needed, but i t’s still really good besides those things

I drove it around his block and the roads weren't too bad there (relatively speaking) and it started raining halfway through but it surprisingly didn't bottom out.

The ride is actually perfect. Not too rough or bumpy and generally very smooth and it handles really well for being, well, a 7 Series. The height is pretty low for Chicago driving but once it's shipped to Florida, I doubt it'll be too low for my drive to school because the roads aren't really that bad and other people drive their shitcans lower with no problem

Those are impossible to find near me in good condition, and the only reason I did an out of state purchase here was because it was through family. But I still love me a good Lexus LS

Very good! I bottomed out the Vette twice today...I feel bad now.
At least it threw big sparks (apparently) when it bottom out.

I have a love-hate relationship with the two-tone. Looks pretty sick but.
That rain. I don’t suppose you’ve ahem...had the back step out around a corner yet?
![]() 08/19/2020 at 14:42 |

Im most likely gonna keep the two tone, it’s not a priority to change it but if I get the time/resources for it I’d do it. If I drive it civil the back stays put but the second I want it to break loose it has no problem doing so.
